What's the difference between mudjacking and poly foam concrete raising?
When injected, our Mudjacking material spreads into the gaps before it raises. Poly Foam application leaves empty pockets and gaps—it will raise where it is applied. Also, Poly Foam is chemical based where our solution has no chemicals.
What is mudjacking?
Mudjacking is an alternative to replacing concrete. We drill holes in the existing concrete slab and use a sand, clay, cement slurry mixture to raise the existing slab back to its original elevation. It normally costs significantly less than concrete replacement and can fix a host of problems, including drainage issues, trip hazards, steps that are too big, and many other liabilities.
What causes concrete to settle, or become uneven?
The most common reason for concrete to settle is due to moisture. As the soil beneath the concrete gets wet and dries out it compacts the soil leave voids in the soil that allow the concrete to settle. To avoid settled concrete, it is recommended to correct drainage near the concrete by extending your rain gutters away from the concrete and maintaining a positive grade. Soil can settle naturally over time, and animals digging the dirt out from the concrete is another frequent cause of settlement.
